1/3 c butter
1 c brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 TB sweet cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 c flour
1 3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Cream butter and sugar.
Blend in egg, cream, and vanilla. Beat well.
Sift dry ingredients together and add.
When thoroughly mixed, roll out to about 1 inch on floured board.
Spread with filling and roll as for jelly roll.
Chill several hours, slice and bake @ 375 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes 35 to 40
Filling:
1 c chopped dates
2/3 c sugar
5 TB water
Mix together and cook stirring constantly. Cool. Add 1/4 c nuts.
Spread over rolled out cookie dough.
I think it says 1 inch thickness, but that is really blurry.
